The Jacksons are far and away the most successful family ever to enter the music business. Since 1969, when I Want You Back became the Jackson 5's first hit single, the family has achieved numerous hits around the world.

Joseph Walter Jackson married Katherine Esther Scruse on 5th November 1949, and the newlyweds set up home at the appropriately named 2300 Jackson Street in Gary, Indiana. The couple went on to have ten children:

• Tariano Adaryll ~ Tito (b. 1953, d. 2024)
• Jermaine LaJaun (b. 1954)

• Steven Randall ~ Randy (b. 1961)
• Janet Damita Jo (b. 1966)

Sadly, Marlon and his twin brother were born prematurely, and Brandon only lived for a few hours.

The most successful second generation Jacksons are Tito's three sons Toriano Adaryll 'Taj' (b. 1973), Taryll Arden (b. 1975) & Tito Joe 'T.J.' (b. 1978), collectively known as 3T.
